Hammond Pond is open year-round, dawn to dusk. Hammond Pond, a wooded reservation with a large, scenic pond, is located in the Chestnut Hill section of Newton adjacent to the city's Webster Conservation Area. It is a natural forest with wooded trails and large geological formations. Nearby Lost Pond has a quaking bog and system of natural trails. Great location for groups.

Directions

From Newton by Car
Take route 9 east straight through 3 lights. At the Omni Food Store take right hand exit labeled "Hammond Pond Parkway." Bear right at botton of the ramp. Reverse direction at the break in the center median. Go under Fieldstone Bridge. Take right into Chestnut Hill Shopping Center. Turn left into parking lot in front of pond.

By MTBA
Green Line (D) to Chestnut Hills Station. From the outbound platform head up the stairs and to the left. Follow the road for a few hundren yards until you see the Star market on the right. Turn into the parking lot and head all the way to the end of the mall, walking between the mall and the pond. Head to the right around the left side of the parking lot (facing the pond) at a sign and trail. This is the entrance.
